WASHINGTON, Aug 9 (Reuters) – Republican Congressman Scott Perry of Pennsylvania said on Tuesday that FBI agents had seized his cell phone, in yet another sign that the Justice Department’s investigation into the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol is heating up.
Perry, who helped spread Trump’s false statements of 2020 election fraud, was in contact with the Trump White House in the weeks before the 2021 assault on the U.S. Capitol.During a congressional hearing in June, lawmakers heard testimony that Perry sought a pardon from Trump.
