A young man charged with dies over a stabbing at Fortitude Valley train station will remain behind bars and was not brought up from the cells to face a magistrate on Tuesday

It will be alleged by police that two groups of young men first confronted each other in Brunswick Street Mall about 4am on Monday. It is not known who started the altercation. The argument then continued inside Fortitude Valley station’s shopping complex.

The man from the other group, who is armed with a knife, takes at least one swing at the victim’s friend with the knife but misses.
Seconds later, the victim is slashed in the neck, which he clutches for a few seconds as blood pours onto the floor.
